Building a Network to Connect Employers and Adventure Guides

Sam Dolling (Founder and CEO of Guide Network) came to us with an idea – linking professional guides and instructors with tourism employers online. He wanted the site to be easy to use and understand, to include an interactive map and to feature profiles, job listings and unique dashboards. He also wanted to futureproof the build for further monetization features, like ad space, down the road.

Considerations

We approached the site with a detailed plan of the functionality that was needed. The plan included: onboarding, employer and guide custom dashboards and profiles with interactive Google maps, account management, job posts, alerts, resume application features and email automation on sign-ups. We strategized a way to launch the site and functionality in phases, allowing for time to build out and integrate all of the pieces. We also assisted Sam in clearly defining his marketing return on investment as well as Guide Network differentiators and positioning in the market.

The Results

As the full launch of the site was just recently completed, we don’t have a lot of stats to pull out yet, but employers can put up profiles, get their custom profiles on the interactive map and post jobs for free until February 2019. Guides can find and apply for jobs directly through the site and get hired.
